So it's been feeling a LOT like fall around here in the morning! 58*! It was perfect for a quick morning run before the little ones came. I tried to run faster since our 5k is on the 8th and I want to beat our old time of 30:36 for that 5k. With pushing myself and the usual hilly-ish route I managed to do 3 miles in 28:20. Hopefully race day adrenaline can keep me at that pace.
Then, after the kids went home I hit the gym for "The Machine Mixer." I found the idea on Pinterest (of course) posted by Spark People. Basically, you take the time you want to workout and divide it amongst your favorite cardio machines to help beat boredom and increase your calorie burn. I really mixed it up this time and threw in the stationary bike, which I haven't used since I joined the gym! I did 15 minutes on the elliptical and covered 1.5 miles, rode 3.5 miles in 15 minutes on the bike and then walked 1.2 miles on the treadmill for 20 minutes, at varying inclines. That's after having done my run in the morning! I'm really trying to stay extremely active since my niece is getting married today! Have to combat all of those calories I'll be enjoying, although I do plan to "cut a rug" tonight!
